Trying to keep this up.

It is actually quite hard to think of a title for posts. I am not a writer, which shows in my boring titles. Never mind, I reckon I am pretty much the only one concerned about that for this blog.

Anyway, I have a new watch. It's an active one. Hoping It will encourage me to be a little more active. We can only hope. I am not too worried sbout thecweight loss, just need to be more active. And not at the gym, either. I don't think this backbof mine would cope with that. If there was one just for women, then maybe I would give it a go, but not with weights. For now I shall get back into walking in the evening. I actually enjoy doing that.

Silly cat

She has decided this is a good place to sun. The shelves are quite narrow, but Lil Mouse has decided this is her spot. She is very lucky they don't fall over when she jumps off them.

Long time no post

Oh my goodness, I had actually forgotten that I had this blog. Shows how much notice it got from me, none!! Anyway, I'm not sure anyone is actually reading this, anyway; but I'll try to keep it going for myself. As a way of tracking my knitting progress. I know there are probably easier ways to do it, but hey if this works, then good for me. I can't say my UFO'S have greatly reduced, but I am getting better at staying on one project for longer. I completed a jersey for my husband, and have another on the needles for him. As it is summer here now, I am not working on it as much as I should. But, it will get finished. This is a short post, just to get me back into the swing of things, so to speak.

It is finished!!!

I have finally finished the Gift of Love Afghan that I was making for my niece. It is now fully completed, and ready for Taylor to enjoy. She wanted it in red an black, so I am sorry the detail on the black panels don't show up very well. The pattern is free, and available from the Bernat website. I enjoyed making this afghan.

Finished a cloth

I have just finished this cloth today. It is from Leisure Arts Trendy Knit Dishcloths, and is called Leaves. The pattern is by Evelyn A. Clark. It was nice and quick to knit. I have used some Anchor Magicline that I found in my stash. No band on the ball of cotton. Here is a pic of the cloth.

So, I have finally started to sew this together. It is a free pattern, called Gift of Love Afghan. I am knitting it for my niece. It is a really easy pattern to do, and I can totally recommend it.

Air Cell stitch

So, I have started another afghan with the Alpaca yarn. This time, I am trying out the air-cell stitch. It's my version of the stitch. I know this is what was wanted for the blanket. I honestly don't know how this will work in this yarn, as the yarn is thick and thin. But, it's worth giving it a try, right? I will pist progress ad I try this out. I have cast on about 350sts, I think. Or is it 250? I will have to count them later. I do know my circular needle isn't quite long enough, but it will have to do, I don't know if I can get a longer needle.

Completed Afghan.

So, I have finally finished the Celtic Knot Afghan that I was knitting in 100% Alpaca. I have made it for a work colleagues' sister. She provided the yarn, which had been hand spun, and was such a joy to work with.
This is the best I can do. The dark colour is actually a dark brown.

Home sick

I don't like being home sick, especially when I know they are short staffed at work. But, when one has a case of vertigo, one has no choice. More so when it is viral related, as this is. One good thing about being home, is the knitting time. I am working on a couple of blankets, and a stole. So I have been able to work on all three, that has to be good. The stole is from the latest Interweave magazine, the Shakespeare issue. It is Maria's Stole, and is working really well. The cHart is so very easy to read.

Beautiful Merino

I was lucky enough to have some beautiful 14ply merino arrive in the mail today. I had ordered this yarn from Facebook. It has come from Lochanside Alpacas, which is up in the North Island. I also ordered some stitch markers, and they look even better in person. The yarn is called Coral Fairy, and so soft.

Nearly there

I am on to the last panel of the blanket. I won't put up a picture until I have the whole thing finished and put together. It has actua...
